The next HUGUK will be held on the 24th of August from 18.30 at Skillsmatter in London. Instead of a full day event this will be a shorter evening meetup with one or preferably two presenters. I'll post a link to the signups as soon as they open.

Henry Robinson from Cloudera will present "ZooKeeper: The State of the Zoo".

ZooKeeper is an open-source distributed coordination platform that brings robust, reliable and available coordination primitives such as locking to a number of projects, including HBase. In this talk I will give an introduction to ZooKeeper and its programming model, peek briefly under the covers at its internal implementation and give an overview of where the project is heading in the short and medium term.

Ideally we would like to have one more presentation. Who's got something Hadoop or "Hadoop ecosystem" related to talk about?

Let me know if you are interested in presenting in the comments to this post, to @skr or to johan@oskarsson.nu
